Reservations can be made by calling the MWR number shown above. Campers must check-in at the ITT office located inside the Marine Exchange.  Parking can be a challenge for big rigs, especially if you happen to arriver on a graduation day as we did.

The FAMCAMP is located about two miles from the MCX/Commissary complex.  This is one's first view of it.  Site 18 is the first one to the left, and site 1 is at the far end of the row.

Date of visit: Nov 2010

We had been assigned site 4.  Sites are fairly level with a hard-packed gravel surface for the RV and a cement patio with picnic table. The main reason for checking in at the ITT office to pick up the key that unlocks the water and electric hookups as well as the bathhouse.  When departing there is a key drop box at the bathhouse.

Looking back up the row of sites.

The bathhouse is brand-new and provides free hot showers and laundry facilities (2 washers and 2 dryers @ $1.00 per load).
We had just barely awakened one morning when we heard the sounds of chanting - quite a group of recruits came by, complete with packs.
A little later, after the sun was up, the female recruits came jogging by.

A short walk from the campground is Elliot Beach.  A bit of a misnomer since there isn't much of a beach.  But there are picnic and recreational facilities.

..... such as this play area for the kids.
Thanksgiving dinner on our patio, with the temperature at 83.

The Parris Island FAMCAMP is a brand-new facility that just opened in 2010.  18 full hook-up sites are located on what used to be a trailer park for enlisted housing.  A nice little campground, but it's not very scenic and is far from base amenities.
