No reservations are taken here - my kind of place! We pulled in shortly after lunch and had no problem finding a nice site. We opted for site D-10.

Date of visit: Mar 2008

Sites D11 and D13 back up to Open Pond.

Back a bit from the pond are sites, such as D19 and D20, with a nice mix of sun and shade.

C15 and C16 are very nice waterfront sites.

The red pickup is on C15.

If you like a nice open site, then C30 is a good choice, as is C18 just beyond it.
If privacy is your thing, there are a number of sites in the woods with greenery to shield you from your neighbors. This is C36.

I'd rank C23 as one of the prime waterfront sites.

Although most of loop A is very primitive, it does include these two waterfront sites (no hookups).
Most of the Loop A sites consist of just a gravel parking space carved out of the thivk woods.

There are three bathhouses in the CG. This is obviously the oldest one. But it does have hot showers.

Here is the newest bathhouse, with individual shower rooms.
This gives you an idea of how the campground sits along the southern shore of Open Pond.
Here's an overall view of Open Pond - a nice walk can be had around its grassy shore.
Being part of the Conecuh National Forest, Open Pond offers access to miles of hiking trails.
