Since this is the third of the free campgrounds along the Trace, we planned our day for an early arrival. At 2 PM, there were about 8 sites to choose from - we took #20. Date of visit: Apr 07 |

divided between pull-throughs and back-ins. |

At the end of the second loop are sites 31 (left), 30 (right) and 29 (background). In fact, this was our third time in a week we had encountered the gal in the rig in back - a doctor from Bangor, ME. |

Within the
park grounds is the burial site of explorer Merewether Lewis. He died
at the nearby Grinder's Inn of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot. |

There are several miles of hiking trails in the park, including a portion of the original Trace. |

Beware the "wheels on pavement" police. The ranger is a stickler for no parking off the paved surfaces. |
