Lobster Buoy CG, South Thomaston ME
This is a small, old-fashioned CG right at the water's edge. Things are pretty natural and nothing fancy, but quite nice and adequate. Water and electric hookups with a dump station. An older bath-house, but very clean. A special treat here in season is the nightly fresh pies, available by the slice.

The bathhouse is nothing fancy, but offers hot showers and is clean. The showers cost a quarter for 5 minutes. |

The campground also has two small cottages available to rent. They're right down at the shoreline. |

Right next door to the campground is this delightful little cottage. I can easily picture myself there for the summer. |

Lobster Buoy CG was started in 1969 by Fred and Mady Batty. Mady just passed away this year, and was active in the running of the campground right to the very end. She still did most of the mowing at age 90! |

During the summer season, a short walk of .4 of a mile will take you to Waterman's Beach Lobster, an award-winning lobster shack run by two local women. The husband of one is a lobsterman and when you order lobster here, it's probably not more than a couple of hours out of the trap. In 2001, Waterman's Beach Lobster was honored with the James Beard Award. |
