We did not stay here, but stopped to walk through the campground to see what it was like.  The road through the campground is paved and there are cement parking pads, with gravel between the road and pad.  Here are sites 26-31.

Date of visit: Mar 2010

The majority of sites have a nice mix of sun and shade, such as here on sites 37, 39, 41.

Site 42 (l).

There is a small overflow area without hookups, should you arrive and find all sites taken. .

Sites 2-10.  The odd-numbered sites on the right of this road are mostly shaded, much more so than the rest of the campground.

Odd-numbered sites 15-21 .
Sites 14-16-18.

Site 13 was the only vacant site at the time of our visit.  It is the smallest of all the sites, but is close to the bathhouse.

The small bathhouse was reasonably clean with free hot showers and a small laundry room ($1.00 per load).
There are some walking trails around the campground area, some of which take one down by the inlet, with a long barrier island across the water.

Hurlburt Field, FL

The Hurlburt Field FAMCAMP is located on Hwy 98 almost directly from the Main Gate, about 6 miles west of Fort Walton Beach, FL.  The campground is located on the north side of the west channel into Chocktawatchee Bay.  There is no traffic light and traffic is whizzing by, so be careful.
