Check-in is at the Ranger Station/Gift Shop, located beside the parkig lot for the day-use area. They've done something very useful here - they have a binder with a photo of each site. Date of visit: Nov 2010 |

Since we were going to be here the weekend before Thanksgiving, we decided to make a reservation. We selected site 14 - sunny but with a couple of shade trees nearby. |

Last year, arriving without a reservation, we used the campground map and the photo of the site in the binder to select site 3 - a very pleasant site surrounded by grass and scattered trees. |

The two older bathhouses have recently been totally renovated and are now more weather-proof. Free hot showers are provided and facilities were quite clean. |

Site 9 is right beside one of the two paths to the beach; the other is between sites 33 and 35. |

We had the time to explore the Sandpiper Pond Nature Trail this year. It's about 1.2 miles from the campground to the end of the trail; one can retrace one's steps to return to the campground or walk back along a paved road. |
