Concerned about having a site for the weekend, I checked good old ReserveAmerica midweek and at first found no sites. But a few minutes later, while checking availability, one popped up - evidently a last minute cancellation. I sure hate paying that reservation fee, though.

Date of visit: Apr 2008

The campground is right beside the beach. Sites 16, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34, 47, and 48 all back right on the beach.

This is looking down the inner camp road. That's site 44 in the left foreground.

The sites closer to the beach generally have no shade. That's site 35 on the right, sites 34 and 32 on the left.

Site 48 is a nice private site facing the water.
Sites 24 and 22.

If you're interested in some shade, then sites in the back row, such as 6 and 8, would be a good choice. Just behind the trees is a paved bike/hike trail which extends about 4 miles.

This view from the day use area shows how close the campground is to the beach.
Not far from the campground is a stable, which offers rides down to and along the beach.

Sunset over the Pacific.
