The small CG at Pine Springs is first-come, first-served. We arrived early on a Sunday afternoon and there were several sites available. We got a nice site at the end of the row, with a great view of the mountains. Date of visit: Mar 2008 |

The RV section of the CG is essentially a parking lot, with double-wide spaces painted on the pavement. There are a total of 19 RV spots: spots 26-30 and 37-39 are in the middle of the lot and are big-rig friendly, while 21-25 and 31-36 are for smaller rigs. There are no hookups and no dump station. |
After our arrival, the haze really thickened through the afternoon. Along with the haze came strong winds - we measured 40 mph overnight. |
Sites 21-25 are on the left (our rig is on 25), and the big fiver is on 29. |
The next morning the air had dramatically, giving a much clearer view of the mountains. The big class C is on site 30, while 33 and 32 are at the right. |
There is a small bathhouse - no showers or hot water. |
Tent campers can choose from 20 sites. |

85 miles of hiking trails give folks a great chance to visit many different topographical areas: McKittrick Canyon, several springs, salt flats, the remains of a former Butterfield Stage Line stop, and the big prize, Guadalupe Peak (left), at 8749' the highest point in Texas . |
