We arrived on a mid-week afternoon in early September and had no problem at finding a site. In fact, there was only one other camper there. Camping after Labor Day is confined to two smaller loops, 26-64 for pets and 218-252 (no pets). We ended up on #222, which offered a little view of Hogback Pond.

Date of visit: Sep 2007

All the sites at Greenfield are pretty much the same: well shaded, quite large and well separated from each other.

There are no hookups here, but there are water taps and a dump station. A "Water Thief" might come in handy here, as the faucets are not threaded for hoses.

There are eight toilet facilities throughout the campground.

There is one shower building near the campground entrance. Showers are free and clean.

The park entrance crosses the B&M RR tracks at a spot known as "Fairgrounds". The county fairground is right across the street.
The office was closed during our stay. There was a sign posted saying to pick a site and a ranger would be around to collect the fee. We never saw a soul. There was an Iron Ranger in front of the building, but it was sealed over with plastic.
There are two beaches at Greenfield - one in the day-use area and this one for campers only. Depending which camp loop one is in, it may be a pretty good hike.
Looking across Otter Lake from the cempers beach.
This is the so-called Beaver Pond. Hmmm.....these beavers seem to have some pretty advanced engineering techniques!
Sunset at Hogback Pond. This was just a short walk from our campsite.
