Ft Bliss operates on the first-come/first-served principle. We arrived before lunch and there were several sites available. The very friendly and professional fellow in the office quickly had us registered and on our way to our site, number 120. The Franklin Mountains provide a nice backdrop. Date of visit: Dec 2011 |

We were last here in 2008 in the spring. With the front row sites quite close to the highway, they're the last to be taken....and that's we end up. |

Here is a view of the new portion of the park, located to the south of the original campground. |

As you can see, the trees aren't very big yet in this area, but give them a few years. |

All the sites are pull-throughs, each angled the same way. Each has a full cement pad and patio, with metal picnic table. It's a very sunny spot, but they have planted some trees which will eventually offer some shade. |

Easy to forget which row you're on. |

The modern recreation and laundry building, with the bathhouse just beyond. The open structure to the left is one of several pavilions throughout the CG. |

In the background are the Franklin Mountains. Just across the street from the office is a small PX mart and Class 6 store, along with a Subway shop. |

There's a small playground for the young ones. |

The entrance to the RV park, with the office in the middle. |

About the only disadvantage to this place is its proximity to a major highway. And we were in the row closest to it. |

A convenient addition since our visit in 2008 is a shoppette - gas station just scross the road from the entrance to the campground. |

Fort Bliss RV Park, TX
Despite the rather plain-jane sign, the Fort Bliss RV Park is a real gem. It's quite new with well-designed sites, two modern bathhouses and a recreation and laundry building. Since our last visit in 2008, the park has been doubled in size, now offering 133 sites.
