We called a few days before our planned visit and were fortunate to get a site for three nights. It's a popular spot, being so close to San Antonio. We were assigned to site 2.

All 68 sites in the campground are quite open - setting up a satellite dish is no problem at all. Not much shade for those hot summer days.

Sites are are all large, level pull-throughs, with a good amount of space between each. |

Just above the RV's you can make out a passing train. Although many folks have complained about the noise of passing trains, it didn't bother us at all. |

Fort Sam Houston, TX
The Fort Sam Houston RV Park is located almost literally within the shadow of Brooks Army Medical Center. Fort Sam is on the ENE side of San Antonio, alongside I-35, and is very convenient for visiting the city.
