Evergreens CG and Restaurant is located just west of Solon, ME, on US Route 201A. Evergreens offers 35 campsites and 5 cabins located on the bank of the Kennebec River. It's a no-frills kind of place, but owners Joe & Lorena keep things very shipshape.

17 of
the 35 sites offer electric and water hookups along the river bank.
About half of those are occupied by seasonal renters. The electric
hookups are only 20A. This picture shows sites 1-5. |

Another view of the RV sites along the river. Tent sites are to the left. Unfortunately, the campground is near the highway, and you do hear the traffic. Site 1 is closest to the road. |

Sites 14, 16, and 17 are probably the best, offering nice views of the river. This is site 16. There is a field with two volleyball nets and 2 sets of horseshoe pits. Canoe and kayak rentals are available for exploring the river. |

The restaurant is open weekends. In warm weather, dinner is served on the deck overlooking the river. |

The bathhouse
is small, but fairly new and immaculate, and offer free hot showers. |

The dump
station has a bit of a problem: when I pulled up beside it, my valve
on the RV was lower than the rather high cement retaining wall. They
need to fill in the mud-hole. |

One of the 5 cabins available for rent. Believe it or not, the cabins are open all winter, for the use of snowmobilers. |

We're
not the first to camp here! |

It was
a beautiful afternoon and near sunset, I took this picture looking
across the river. |

And a
little later, after the sun was well down, I found a little pink in
the sky, with more pink on the water. This was taken from our site. |
