It was a close call getting a site here on a Monday afternoon in mid-June. There were only three left when we pulled in, with another rig right behind us. Site 10 was to our liking - level and a bit a view of the lake. Date of visit: Jun 2008 |

Sites 18 and 19 are along the road leading down to the day-use area and boat launch. |

Sites 22 and 21 are also along that road. |

Sites 6 and 7 are tent sites at the far end of the CG road. |

There are three of these new vault toilets located in the CG. No showers. |

Down at the boat launch is a new boardwalk that goes along the shore of the lake. At the far end are steps up to the CG. |

Bismarck Lake CG (USFS), Custer, SD
Bismarck Lake CG is located on Rt 16-1 four miles east of Custer. It is just inside Custer State Park, which normally charges a $10/vehicle entrance fee; however, if you tell them you're going to Bismarck Lake, then you don't have to pay. The CG has 23 sites on a hillside overlooking Bismarck Lake.
