We selected site E191 for our overnight stay. It was fairly level and offered a pleasant mix of sun and shade.

Loops E, F, G and H must be the original part of the CG. Sites are more shaded in this area. At many of these sites, it would be difficult to set up a satellite dish. Verizon National Access service is available.

This would be my vote for the best site in the campground - E180. Most sites are back-in, but there are pull-throughs primarily in loops F, G and H.

This shows the openness of the newer part of the CG, loops A, B, C and D. No hookups are available at Big Meadows, but there is a dump station. |

and laundry facilities are available in a separate building near the
check-in station. |

Situated
on the west side of the summit, Big Meadows Lodge offers sleeping
accomodations and dining. Besides rooms in the main lodge, guests
may also stay in cottages or motel-type units. |

There are
not many campgrounds where you have only a short walk to a first-rate
restaurant. The food is delicious and the view out the windows is......well,
see below. |
