Here we are on site #31, with a great view of the lake. Setting up the satellite dish here was a snap. But we were in a Verizon Extended Network area, and although voice was fine, no data capability was available.

Date of visit: Apr 2006

This shows sites 24-29, located on an open little peninsula. In the distance is W.Kerr Scott Dam.

All sites offer W/E (30A) hookups.

Although the COE now uses ReserveAmerica, they do keep more sites available for first-come/first-served - 40%. So it's considerably easier to get a site than at most state parks.

There are two CG loops. The previous pictures show sites from Area A. Area B is more wooded and doesn't offer the open waterfront sites of Area A.

The park has a nice open amphitheater where rangers present various programs.

Near the amphitheater is a playground with quite a few interesting things for the kids to enjoy.
In the foreground is the small swimming area for use by campers. Across the water is the larger beach for day-use visitors.
For boaters, there is a boat ramp located in the campground.

A beautiful sunrise on a chilly morning (35 degrees) as the mist slowly lifts off the lake. This is the view from the door of our rig.

This was a tough place to leave - we extended our original 3-night stay to 6 nights.
